Practical information

The next AGM will be taking place 28 - 30 april 2023 at Scandic Ishavshotel in Tromsø.

The AGM is open for all members of Amnesty International Norway. To be allowed to vote, you have to have been a member for at least six months ahead of the AGM (latest 29 october 2022).

Are you under 18? Your guardian has to sign a consent form for you to participate. You will find the form here.

As a member of Amnesty International Norway, you can simply logg inn to "Min Side" here. Choose a log-in method (SMS or Vipps), and fill in your mobile number. On the first page, scroll down to "arrangementer". You will find the event and registration form for 2023 here, if you are a member.

The deadline for registration is friday 31 march 2023.

Do you have problems logging in? Contact Amnesty at [email protected] or call 22 40 22 00, and press "2" for membership service.

There is a participation fee of 300 koner for ordinary members and 150 kroner for members under 25 years. This includes lunch and snacks.

You can pay by card upon registration. If you cancel the payment, you will be sent a payment notice to the email address you registered with. You are not secured a spot before the payment is completed. Please note that the registration is binding upon payment of the participation fee.

You can apply for a refund of transportation costs from Amnesty Norway. There is a 350 kr deductible for transportation costs on the refund for ordinary members. The deductible is 200kr for members under 25 years. Please note: you will only be refunded for transportation costs if you participated and checked in at the AGM.

Members need to book and pay for accomodation. However, we know that many people my be experiencing more financial stress than usual. Therefore, we offer a partial refund of accommodation costs who stay in a double room with another participant.

The AGM 2023 will be held at Scandic Ishavshotel Tromsø (Fredrik Langes gate 2). After you have completed the registration form for the AGM, you will receive an email with a link for booing accommodation at the hotel.

Members are required to book their own accommodation at the AGM, unless they are covered by one of the support schemes described below.

If you are travelling to the AGM alone, you can book one bed in a double room - or if you know another member who is coming, you can book a double room together. Link and detailed instructions for the booking will be sent out with your registration confirmation. Note: To use this, you have too book latest by 31 march 2023.

Financial support schemes:

Amnesty also offers a fincancial support scheme if you cannot pay the remaining costs of accommodation for financial reasons. You can read more about this here. Note: the deadline of application is 15 march.

Members need to make their own travel arrangements. However, as a member you can apply for a refund from Amnesty for any travel costs. A deductible of 350 kr for ordinary members and 200 kr for members 24 years or younger applies. Read more about how you can apply for a refund below.

Applications for travel cost refunds will be made available on this page, and have to be received by the secretariat by Monday 22 may 2023.

Travel costs are a significant part of the budget for the AGM, and we therefore ask everyone to choose as affordable a travel option as possible. The earlier you book your trip, the more affordable tickets will be. Due to climate concerns, we ask everyone who can to choose forms of transportation other than planes.

We cover travel costs up to these maximum amounts:

Svalbard: 6750 kr

Nord-Norge: 6750 kr

Midt-Norge: 6750 kr

West-Norway: 6750 kr

Sør- og Øst-Norge: 5250 kr

There is a 350 kr deductible on travel costs for ordinary members, and 200 kr for members 24 years or younger. Tickets and other attachments (receipts) need to be attached to the application. Applications with lacking inforamtion and/ or documentation will be returned to the sender with information about what is missing. If you are not able to send in the documentation, the application will be denied. Applications that are received after the 22 may 2023 will not be processed, and therefore will not be refunded.

From Tromsø airport, take bus 42 to "Eidkjosen via Giæverbukta" and get off at "Killengreens gate". From there its under five minutes walking to the hotel.

There is currently no plan for interpreters at this year's AGM. However, you will have the opportunity to note any needs for accommodation in the registration form. If you need interpretation to participate at the AGM, please note this in the registration form, and we will try to arrange interpretation.

The AGM 2023 will be an in-person event at Scandic Ishavshotel in Tromsø, and it will not be possible to participate remotely.

Information concerning the organisation and AGM proceedings

All documents for the AGM will be published on AI Norway's homepage latest one month prior to the AGM. Here you will find the agenda, list of motions, background documents as well as the board's report and the election committee's proposal for new board members.

Å forberede seg godt til landsmøtet ved å lese papirene i forkant er en veldig stor fordel og vil gjøre det lettere for deg å delta på en konstruktiv måte.

Amnesty International i Norge er bevisst på unødvendig utskrift av dokumenter. Vi kommer derfor ikke til å skrive ut alle saksdokumentene for deltakerne. Ta derfor gjerne med deg en PC, et nettbrett eller lignende som du kan lese dokumenter på. Hvis du ønsker utskrifter, ber vi deg om å gjøre dette selv i forkant av møtet.

The AGM is open for all members of Amnesty International Norway, and everyone who has been a member for at least six months has voting rights. This means that to have the right to vote on motions and voting on board members you must have been a member since at least 29 october 2023.

Motions which require changes to Amnesty Norway's bylaws have to be received by the board latest 3 months prior to the AGM (29 january 2023).
