March 8th is just around the corner! We hope you are ready to raise your voice and demand an 'only-yes-means-yes' consent law.
Check out our action circular linked below. There, you'll find tips on what you can do in advance, on the day, and after International Women's Day. The government will present a proposal for a new law before the summer of 2024.
We hope to generate significant attention on this topic in society so that we can influence the politicians to enact consent-based legislation.
Sign up for the AGM
Dear member! From April 19th to 21st, we are organizing the national assembly 2024 at our new offices here in Oslo. This year's national assembly is truly a highlight! Together, we will celebrate 60 years of Amnesty in Norway.
We will look back on significant victories and fond memories from recent years. Additionally, we will of course look ahead to the years to come: what challenges do we face? Do we need to think innovatively to influence the world in 2024? We need you for these discussions.
We promise you a weekend filled with exciting content and good conversations, inspiration, and motivation. Not least you will meet other members from across the country.
Register via my page by March 14th.
All information about the national assembly can be found on the gathering page at the link below
We want your motion proposal for the AGM 2024
Do you want to influence Amnesty to work with a topic close to your heart?
Your motion proposal must be delivered by March 8th.
On the website you will find all information about how you prepare and submit a motion.
Welcome to Amnestys youth gathering 2024
Are you between 23 and 19 and care about human rights? Then you are welcome to spend Friday April 19th in Oslo with other young human right defenders from all over the country. At the youth gathering you will learn about the issues Amnesty has worked on before and now, and we will come up with creative ideas for coming campaigns.
Read more and sign up here before March 14th.
We need your nomination for the Activist Prize 2024
Do you know an activist who has been incredibly creative in their activism? A group that has excelled on social media, or someone who has simply done excellent work with the press? Then you should nominate them for the Activist Award 2024. One of the highlights of the national assembly is to award the activist prizes, where we shine a light on all the fantastic work happening throughout the country throughout the year. Whether you are attending the national assembly or not, we hope that you will nominate someone for the Activist Award 2024. This can be done by filling out the form at the link below.
Are you planning to have an election this spring?
All positions in the group are elected through democratic elections annually. Spring is approaching, and this is a time when many groups hold elections!
In the toolbox, you will find information on what is important to consider before, during, and after the group's elections. Here you will also find information about group structure, guidelines for groups that may be helpful to review prior to the election.
Read more below and contact the regional office if you have any questions!
New Group Leaders
Remember to inform the regional office about the election and new positions in the group.
New group leaders should register their position on MinSide and will then have the opportunity to update their consent to have contact information for the group on Amnesty.no. See user manual (link below) p.8 for more information on how to do this.

Knowledge transfer is also important when changing positions to ensure that information is not lost when transitioning leadership and other roles within the group.

This newsletter will go out to all activists who are registered in groups on Min Side. Currently, I see that not everyone is registered here and ask group leaders to share with those who may not have received this e-mail - thank you!
