Please click the questions below and more information will appear.

Practical info:

The next AGM will be held 22-24 April 2022 at Scandic Oslo Airport Hotel at Gardermoen.

The AGM is open to all members of Amnesty International in Norway. To have the right to vote you must have been a member for at least six months prior to the AGM (22 October 2021).

If you are under 18 years of age, you must from a parent/guardian. You can find the consent form at the bottom of this page.

You can sign up through the registration form in English here.

Registration deadline: Thursday 31 March 2022.

If you struggle to log in, you can contact Amnesty by emailing [email protected] or call 22 40 22 00.

The AGM has a participation fee of 300 NOK for ordinary members, and 150 NOK for members below the age of 25. This includes dinner Friday night, lunch Saturday and Sunday, and a banquet Saturday night for those participating physically.

Payment information will be sent to you in the confirmation email you receive after signing up for the AGM. Your spot is not secured until the fee is paid. We want to make you aware that the fee is non-refundable.

Additionally, you have to pay for your own accommodation. That is, unless you are either granted free accommodation through the support scheme or are below the age of 25 and sign up for a free bed in a family room. Click the question below for further details.

You can apply to have travel costs refunded, minus a deductible of 350 NOK for ordinary members and 200 NOK for members below the age of 25.

You have to book and pay for your own accommodation unless you are eligble for one of our support schemes described below. Amnesty has however secured several rooms at Scandic Oslo Airport hotel at a fixed price for AGM participants. You have to book by 31 March to be guaranteed a room at the agreed price: 1090 NOK for a double room or 990 NOK for a single room per night, including breakfast. We advise you to share a room with a good friend, both to save space and for you to save costs (while it also being more social).

Note: In the confirmation email that you receive when signing up for the AGM, you will get a booking code that is needed to access this offer.

Support schemes:

Amnesty offers a support scheme where certain groups, who, for financial reasons, struggle to cover the costs of accommodation, can apply for free accommodation. You can read more about the scheme and apply here. Deadline for applying is 24 March.

Members below the age of 25 are offered free accommodation in family rooms with four beds. Please clarify if you want to use this offer in the registration form. If you prefer a single- or double room, you have to book and pay for this yourself directly with the hotel, as described above.

All participants must book their own travel, but can apply for a refund for travel expenses.

When applying for refund, there is a deductible of 350 NOK for ordinary members and 200 NOK for members below 25 years of age. Read more about how to apply for a refund in the question below.

Application for refund must be filled out through the form “application for travel refund”, available on the AGM website, and must be handed in by 25 May 2022.

The travel costs of the AGM constitute a significant expense, so we ask all participants to choose a cheap mode of transport and to book your travel early. For climate reasons, we also ask members to choose a different mode of transport than airplane, if possible.

Our maximum travel refund limits are:

Svalbard: 9000 NOK

Northern Norway: 6750 NOK

Central Norway: 6750

Southern and Eastern Norway: 5250 NOK

When applying for refund, there is a deductible of 350 NOK for ordinary members and 200 NOK for members below 25 years of age.

Tickets and other supplements must be added to the application. Applications with missing information and/ or documentation will be returned with information on what is missing. If you cannot document the journey, the application will not be approved.

Applications received after 25 May 2022 will not be processed and therefore not refunded.

When applying for refund, the form has to be signed before it is scanned together with valid documentation (bank terminal expenses are only valid together with specified receipts) and sent to [email protected] or by mail to:

Yes! We offer professional interpretation services at the AGM (Norwegian to Englih). Please indicate if you have this need in the application form.

The AGM will be held physically at Scandic Oslo Airport Hotel at Gardermoen, and it will not be possible to participate digitally.

We are however monitoring the situation relating to the Corona virus, and are prepared to make changes to the AGM if necessary. Read more about this in the question below.

We are monitoring the development in the pandemic situation closely and prepare for the possibility that there may be infection control restrictions that limit the right to carry out physical events at the time our AGM is to take place. In that case, we will conduct the AGM digitally.

Please note that if we are unable to host the AGM physically due to the corona situation, we will make sure that you are refunded for your travel costs if you already have booked your travel to the AGM (within the maximum travel refund limits). For more information on these limits, see the question on refund for travel costs above.

We are unfortunately unable to refund costs for accommmodation, but you can cancel your hotel room at Scandic Oslo Airport Hotel until 22 April if you have booked it using our booking code. For more information about the booking code, see the question on "Where can I stay?" above.

We will come back with more information about this when we know more about how the situation develops.

It is important for us that the AGM is safe for all participants. We monitor the situation closely and will take all necessary measures to ensure that the AGM is held in accordance with rules and recommendations.

Organisational info:

The AGM papers will be published on our websites when ready and in accordance with the rules of procedure for the AGM (1 month prior to the AGM at the latest). Here you will find the programme, list of resolutions, background documents, as well as the Board's report and the election comittee's recommondations.

Reading the documents is beneficial and will help you participate in a more meaningful way..

Amnesty in Norway does not want to print unnecessary amounts of documents, and we will therefore not offer printed out versions of the papers at the AGM. You should therefore bring a laptop or tablet to read documents during the meeting. If you want a hard copy of the documents, we ask you to print them yourself prior to the meeting. Be aware that some last-minute documents may only be given to you when arriving at the AGM.

Translation:

We will do our best to ensure that the AGM papers are translated to English.

In the event that any papers are not translated, we ask English speaking participants to get help from a friend to translate the papers in advance, or to use a translation website for assistance.

The AGM is open to all members, but you must have been a member for at least six months prior to the AGM (22 October 2021) to have a right to vote. If you are not currently a member, but would like to be so, you can sign up to become a member here.

If you propose a motion that demands changes in the bylaws, the proposal need to be with the boards three months prior to the AGM (21 January 2022). For ordinary motions, the deadline is six weeks at the latest (07 March 2022).
