Are you between 13 and 19 and interested in Human Rights? Then Amnestys youth Gathering is for you! This time we meet north of the polar Circle, in the beautiful city of Tromsø. Join us the 28th of April.

At Amnestys Youth Gathering you get the opportunity to meet like minded people from all over the country and learn about human rights, be inspired to do activism, make new friends and contribute info Amnestys human rights campaigns. This year you will learn more about Amenstys work against the death penalty.

This weekend you get to meet other young activists and you will contribute to Amnestys human rights work by creating creative activism ideas together with other young people.

Practical info:

When: April 28th 2023 at 9:30AM

Where: Tromsø

Who: The youth gathering is for everyone between 13 an 19 years of age. You do not have to be a member of Amnesty, but we only cover travel costsover night stay for our paying members. If you are not yet a member, you may become one here.

Under 18: Are you under the age of 18 at the time of the gathering, your parents or legal guardians must give their consent to you participation. Find the consent form here.

Language: English

Travel: You have to book your travel yourself, but Amnesty can cover reasonable travel costs. NB there is a 200 kr deductible. Book early and save the reciepts. if you need help booking your travels, you can contact your regional office.

Over night stay: If you travel from another part of the country, we cover your stay at the hotel. You will be booked into a shared room with other participants at the gathering.

School absence: Since we meet on a Friday, you may miss classes. Contact Maria at [email protected], and you will be sent a confirmation that you can use to get your absence registered as political absence, which is accepted as most vgs schools. If you are at ungdomsskole, ask you teachers what rues apply.

Annual General Meeting (AGM): As usual, the youth gathering is held the friday before Amnestys AGM. The AGM is the members main arena for deciding how Amnesty will work and who will run the organization. The AGM is also a good arena for inspiration and learning and you will meet interesting visitors from other parts of the world. You sign up for the AGM here.
