This year's Pride action focuses on Turkey, where it is becoming increasingly difficult to be queer and to celebrate Pride.

Help shape Amnesty in Norway's work for the Next Five Years!

In 2026, Amnesty in Norway will adopt a new strategy that will last until 2030. The board, together with the secretariat, will create a proposal for the new strategy, but it is you, the members, who will adopt the strategy at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in 2026.

To ensure that the proposal for the 2026-2030 strategy is as good as possible, we invite all members who wish to participate to a digital consultation round in late summer. Here you will be presented with the proposal for the new strategy, and there will be an opportunity to provide input and suggest changes.

There will be two digital consultation rounds with the same content to ensure that as many people as possible can participate. This means that it is sufficient to sign up for one of the days.

  • Thursday, August 28, from 17:00 to 19:00
  • Monday, September 1, from 17:00 to 19:00

Please note that the consultation meetings will be held in Norwegian, but if you wish to provide input in English, you can contact us via email: [email protected]

We hope to see you at the consultation round!

Best regards, Tor Kåpvik, Chairman, on behalf of the entire board

Norway FINALLY has a consent-based rape legislation!

The law was passed with 91 votes in favor and 12 against. This fight for getting this law changed has been long. Until quite recently, it was still uncertain whether a proposal would be presented during this government term, what the proposal would look like, and whether it would get enough votes in Parliament.

This would not have been possible if it wasn’t for the survivors who shared their stories and activists who has brought attention to the issue and kept up the pressure over time.

This is a major victory- for the legal rights of survivors of rape and for our society.

Thank you to everyone who contributed and raised their voice!

Quarterly Report – April, May, June
June has flown by, and it's time for the quarterly report for the second quarter of the year – that is, April, May, and June. It would be great if you or someone else in the group could fill it in by Friday, August 22 🌞

The report should only take a few minutes to complete, and we really appreciate you taking the time to fill out the form – even if the group hasn’t had any activity this quarter!

For new group leaders: There is a Q&A below the form that might be helpful to read!

Recruitment

All groups benefit from bringing in new members – and for youth and student groups, it’s especially important to ensure continuity and keep the energy going.

Now is the perfect time to start planning activities for the beginning of the semester. We’ve gathered some helpful tips and resources to get you started!

P.S. Don’t forget that your regional office has lots of great materials you can use in your recruitment efforts!

Good luck with the recruitment! 🌟

What Can You Do for Palestine This Summer?

Palestinians are subjected to severe human rights violations both in Gaza and in the occupied territories. Norway must acknowledge that Israel is committing genocide and apartheid and stop investing in companies that contribute to the occupation. You can help increase the pressure on Norwegian authorities by getting involved- even this summer.

We have updated the action guide with concrete suggestions on how you can show solidarity, spread information, collect signatures, and hold politicians accountable. Whether you have five minutes or want to spend your holiday on activism, you’ll find something that suits you.

This newsletter will go out to all activists who are registered in groups on Min Side. Currently, I see that not everyone is registered here and ask group leaders to share with those who may not have received this e-mail - thank you!
